EVALUASI PEMAKAIAN DENTURE ADHESIVE PADA GIGI TIRUAN LENGKAP RESIN AKRILIK: SCOPING REVIEW

Pembuatan gigi tiruan lengkap dapat mengembalikan fungsi pengunyahan dengan mempertimbangkan faktor retensi, stabilisasi dan dukungan. Salah satu masalah pemakaian gigi tiruan lengkap yang menjadi keluhan utama pasien adalah gigi tiruan yang terasa longgar yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya retensi dan stabilitas gigi tiruan. Cara yang praktis untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan cara menggunakan denture adhesive. Denture adhesive digunakan sebagai bahan yang dapat membentuk lapisan perlekatan pada permukaan basis gigi tiruan. Tujuan dari scoping review ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pemakaian denture adhesive pada gigi tiruan lengkap resin akrilik. Metode: yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan cara melakukan pencarian melalui database pubmed, science direct, dan google scholar. Artikel yang dijadikan sampel penelitian adalah artikel yang dipublikasi pada tahun 2011 - 2021, artikel yang berbahasa Inggris dan berbahasa Indonesia, artikel yang dapat diakses dengan gratis. Hasil: Review dari 18 artikel, menyatakan bahwa pemakaian denture adhesive pada gigi tiruan lengkap resin akrilik dapat meningkat retensi dan stabilisasi. Denture adhesive juga mengakibatkan  kekasaran permukaan  basis  gigi tiruan sehingga terjadi koloni Candida albican dan mengakibatkan denture stomatitis pada jaringan dibawah basis gigi tiruan.  Kesimpulan:  Denture adhesive berguna  untuk  meningkatkan retensi dan stabilisasi gigi tiruan, pasien perlu konsultasi kepada dokter gigi sebelum menggunakan denture adhesive supaya dapat menggunakan denture adhesive dengan tepat untuk menghindari efek negatif yang timbul akibat kesalahan dalam memakai denture adhesive tersebut.
