Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup

MENARA ILMU is a research and scientific study journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service of Muhammadiyah University Sumatera Barat. The journal's editors welcome manuscript submissions derived from studies and research conducted in the fields of Exact Sciences, Education/Social Sciences, and Islamic Religion for potential publication. All submitted manuscripts will undergo evaluation and editing to ensure uniform formatting while preserving the original intent.

Proses Peer Review

Jurnal Menara Ilmu menerapkan kebijakan proses peninjauan/review sebagai berikut :

  1. Naskah yang dikirim author, akan melewati proses review oleh editor, terutama pengecekan kesesuaian naskah dengan ruang lingkup jurnal dan kesesuaian dengan template Jurnal. Dalam proses ini, editor akan menjalin komunikasi dengan penulis sehingga naskahnya layak dikirim ke Reviewer atau bahkan dikembalikan/decline.
  2. Naskah yang telah melewati langkah 1 diatas, maka dikirim ke reviewer untuk ditinjau kontennya.
  3. Proses peninjauan akan mempertimbangkan kebaruan, objektifitas, metode, dampak ilmiah, kesimpulan, dan referensi.
  4. Reviewer akan menyarankan perbaikan dan atau penerimaan/menolak artikel.
  5. Editor akan memutuskan dengan mempertimbangkan saran dari reviewer apakah naskahnya memenuhi persyaratan Jurnal Menara Ilmu.
  6. Keputusan editor adalah final.


Frekuensi Penerbitan

Jurnal Menara Ilmu Terbit secara berkala 3 bulan sekali, pada bulan Januari, April, Juli dan Oktober Setiap Tahun


Kebijakan Akses Terbuka

Menara Ilmu merupakan jurnal dengan akses terbuka yang mengizinkan semua orang untuk membaca, mendownload, dan membagikan secara gratis serta tanpa perlu mendaftar sebagai pengguna pada website.


Publication Ethic

All parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, including managers, editors, reviewers, and authors, fully adhere to the policies and principles of the ethical code for scientific publications. This code of ethics is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which upholds three fundamental ethical values in publications:

 (i) Neutrality: Ensuring the absence of conflicts of interest in managing publications.

(ii) Justice: Granting authorship rights to those who are entitled to be authors or contributors.

(iii) Honesty: Guaranteeing the absence of duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.


Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Manager :

  1. Decide on the journal's name, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation, as needed.
  2. Establish the editorial board's membership.
  3. Define the contractual relationships between publishers, editors, authors, and other parties.
  4. Maintain strict confidentiality for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and peer reviewers.
  5. Uphold norms and regulations regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Review journal policies and communicate them to authors, editorial board members, peer reviewers, and readers.
  7. Develop a code of conduct for editors and peer reviewers.
  8. Ensure timely and regular journal publication.
  9. Secure funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication.
  10. Foster cooperation and establish marketing networks.
  11. Handle permits and legal aspects appropriately.


Editor's Duties and Responsibilities :

  1.  Address the needs of both readers and authors.
  2. Continuously strive to enhance publication quality.
  3. Implement processes to ensure the quality of published content.
  4. Prioritize objective freedom of expression.
  5. Safeguard the integrity of authors' academic contributions.
  6. Issue corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary.
  7. Be responsible for the style and format of written work, with content and statements remaining the author's responsibility.
  8. Actively seek input from authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve publication quality.
  9. Encourage assessments of the journal when findings arise.
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to provide an approved Ethical Clearance form.
  11. Promote researcher education on publication ethics.
  12. Assess the impact of publication policies on authors and peer reviewers and make improvements to increase accountability and minimize errors.
  13. Maintain an open-minded approach to diverse opinions and viewpoints.
  14. Avoid defending personal, authorial, or third-party opinions that may compromise objectivity.
  15. Encourage authors to refine their work until it meets publication standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers (Bestari Partners) : 

  1. Accept assignments from the editor to review submitted work and provide feedback for the publication decision.
  2. Avoid reviewing work in which they have a direct or indirect personal interest.
  3. Maintain confidentiality by not disclosing correction results, suggestions, or recommendations, focusing instead on constructive criticism and suggestions.
  4. Encourage authors to make necessary improvements to their work.
  5. Review revised manuscripts according to predetermined standards and within the established timeline, based on scientific principles.


Author Duties and Responsibilities : 

  1. Ensure that all individuals listed as authors meet the criteria for authorship.
  2. Jointly assume responsibility for the work and its content, including research methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  3. Disclose the sources of funding, whether direct or indirect.
  4. Clearly state any research limitations.
  5. Respond professionally and promptly to feedback from peer reviewers.
  6. Notify the editor if withdrawing a submitted manuscript
  7. Confirm that the submitted work is original, has not been published in any language elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another publisher


Publication Frequency

Menara Ilmu Journal is published on a quarterly basis, with issues released in January, April, July, and October each year.


Open Access Policy

Menara Ilmu is an open-access journal that grants unrestricted access to all readers, enabling them to freely read, download, and share its content without the necessity of registering as users on the website.
