  1. Year 2018
  • The Jurnal Kajian dan Pengembangan Umat was officially established by the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat, as part of its efforts to support the development of knowledge in the fields of religion and society.
  • The journal's focus and scope include Islamic studies, da'wah (Islamic propagation), community management, Islamic religious education, and socio-religious issues (Islamic Social Humanity).
  1. Year 2021
  • After three years of operation, the journal successfully achieved SINTA 6 accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), under Decree No. 164/E/KPT/2021.
  • This accreditation marked the journal's initial recognition at the national level in terms of both management and the substance of its articles.
  1. Years 2022–2023
  • The journal management team continued to enhance quality in both management and content, including:
  • Structuring articles in accordance with international standards.
  • Engaging expert reviewers and editors from leading universities across Indonesia.
  • Expanding publication coverage to include contemporary issues related to community development.
  • Collaborating with national and international researchers to enrich the journal's content.
  1. Year 2024
  • SINTA Re-accreditation: In this year, the Jurnal Kajian dan Pengembangan Umat successfully upgraded its accreditation status from SINTA 6 to SINTA 4, as per Decree No. 177/E/KPT/2024 issued by Kemendikbudristek.
  • This achievement was driven by consistent publication efforts, improved article quality, enhanced online management using the Open Journal System (OJS), and increased citation counts of its articles.
  • Accreditation Highlights: 
  • Submission for indexing in international databases such as DOAJ and Scopus.
  • Strengthening collaboration networks with overseas universities.
  • Enhancing faculty and student participation in producing high-quality articles.
  • Conducting training and mentoring programs for authors to produce works that meet SINTA 4 standards. This accomplishment positions the journal as one of the leading publications in Islamic studies and community development at the national level.
