Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has become an important approach in education because it supports students’ emotional development, social skills, and learning engagement. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) implementation in supporting deep learning in English language learning at the junior high school level. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The participants were 32 students of class IX.C at SMPN 1 Padang Panjang selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 15 statements based on five SEL competencies: self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, social awareness, and relationship skills. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis through effectiveness percentage calculation. The results showed that the implementation of SEL obtained an effectiveness score of 75.88%, categorized as high. The findings indicate that SEL supports students’ readiness to participate in meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning experiences. Therefore, Social Emotional Learning can be considered an effective approach to support deep learning implementation in English language learning at the junior high school level.
